The Application for the Anne Arundel County Public Safety Officer’s Property Tax Credit is AVAILABLE.
*The Application must be submitted by April 1, 2018 to be considered for the taxable year beginning July 1, 2018
*You must re-apply for the credit each year (for a maximum of five total years of benefit)
The Application will ask you if you currently receive any other optional tax credit for your property. Many people have asked if the Homestead Tax Credit will make you ineligible for the Public Safety Officer’s Tax Credit. No; the Homestead Tax Credit is considered a mandatory tax credit, not an optional tax credit, which is what the Application asks about.
The Application will ask you for your Property Tax Account Number. You can find this on your property tax bill from last year, or by retrieving your tax record on:
SDAT (click here to navigate to SDAT)
Your Property Tax Account Number are all of the numbers that comprise the District, Subdivision and Account number fields. So in the below example the tax account number would be 0574915673005.
